The Apostles’ Creed
We believe in God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth.
And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell. The third day He rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and sits and the right hand of God the Father Almighty.
From thence He will come to judge the living and the dead.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Christian Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
- We believe that God is Triune: One God who reveals Himself in three distinct and separate Persons – Father, Son, & Holy Spirit. (Hebrews 11:1-3; John 3:16; John 5:39; Acts 4:12; 1 Corinthians 12:3)
- We believe that God desires all people to be saved and know the Truth. (Ezekiel 33:11; John 3:1-8; Romans 3:23; 1 Timothy 2:3-4; 2 Peter 3:9; 1 John 4:16)
- We believe that God loves people so much that He sent His only Son, Jesus, to rescue us from our lost condition. (Isaiah 53:5; Romans 10:9-10; 1 Timothy 2:5-6; Colossians 2:8-9)
- We believe that the Holy Spirit brings, keeps, grows, and matures us in faith through God’s Word, Baptism, and the Lord’s Supper. (Matthew 26:27-28; John 1:12-13 & 6:54-58; Acts 2:38; 1 Corinthians 10:16-17 & 12:3; Romans 10:17; 2 Timothy 3:14-16)
Join us at one of our many congregations in the Eastern District of The Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod as we worship and grow in our faith in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
