The Eastern District assists our Lutheran schools with staffing, call
lists, accreditation, visits, state and federal advocacy, research, consultation
and the tools to provide professional growth for teachers.

LCMS School Ministry assists, equips and uplifts school educators, district staff-
especially education executives and congregational leaders- so
that through them children may be equipped as disciples of Jesus
Christ.
Lutheran
Education Association (LEA)
is a professional organization that links, equips, and affirms
educators in Lutheran ministries, helping them become excellent
educators.

National
Lutheran School Accreditation (NLSA) is an ongoing
process of self-evaluation, improvement, and recognition based on
national standards for childcare centers, early childhood, elementary,
and secondary schools. LCMS Lutheran schools (elementary, secondary
and early childhood) are eligible to apply for accreditation through
National Lutheran School Accreditation. For an information packet

Programs
LUTHERAN PRESCHOOL/EARLY CHILDHOOD
PROGRAMS
We stand ready to aid congregations
desiring to start early childhood ministries and to support those congregations
already bringing Christ to little children. We are available for programmatic
consultation, for providing curricular support, sponsoring early childhood
education conferences, and encouraging professional, developmentally
appropriate growth for teachers.

for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) is the nation’s largest and most influential
organization of early childhood educators and others dedicated
to improving the quality of programs for children from birth through
third grade.

Ecumenical Child
Care Network (ECCN) is a professional
association of early childhood educators that addresses the real
issues of church-based early childhood/preschool programs. Composed
of individuals from around the globe, ECCN advocates early childhood
care and education in churches and religious organizations.

Zero to Three is a national not-for-profit organization
that promotes the healthy development of our nation’s infants
and toddlers by supporting and strengthening families, communities,
and those that work on their behalf. Zero to Three is dedicated
to advancing current knowledge; promoting beneficial policies and
practices; communicating research and best practices to a wide
variety of audiences.

National Center
for Early Development (NCEDL) is
a national early childhood research project operated by The Frank
Porter Graham Child Development Center, University of North Carolina-Chapel
Hill in collaboration with the University of Virginia & UCLA.
NCEDL focuses on enhancing cognitive, social, and emotional development
of children from birth through age eight.

Child Ministry
CHILD MINISTRY
Child Ministry provides children
and adults with workshop and seminar resources as well as training
for teachers of Sunday Schools, Vacation
Bible School, and Midweek School.

Lutheran Hour Ministries (LHM) Lutheran Hour Ministries,
headquartered in St. Louis, is a service of the International Lutheran
Laymen's League, a volunteer organization of 150,000 members. LHM’s
mission is, “to be a worldwide, grass roots based, Christian
communications organization proclaiming the Gospel of Christ Jesus
and connecting people to Lutheran congregations."

Lutheran Woman's
Missionary League (LWML) with membership
of over 250,000, LWML is the official women's organization of the
Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. LWML focuses on affirming each
woman in her relationship with Christ to enable her to be in ministry
among the people of the world and live out a Christian life in
active mission ministries and also to financially support global
missions.

Youth & Family Institute Seeks to strengthen
mature faith and positive values among children and youth. It is
committed to nurturing healthy and faithful children, youth, and

Ministries is an independent Lutheran charitable organization that provides
support for new church-related health and hope ministries. Wheatridge’s
